All Seasons Groveland Inn A Relaxing Bed and Breakfast for Your Next Vacation. by Francine Brokaw
If you're in the mood for a quiet - and possibly romantic - getaway, The All Seasons Groveland Inn in Groveland, California might be just what you're looking for. Located just 23 miles from the Northern gate of Yosemite, Groveland is a quaint little town with cute shops and friendly people. When we were booked into the All Seasons Groveland Inn, our first thought was "oh no." We're not usually bed and breakfast people. But we were definitely surprised at our two days spent at the Inn and in the area. First of all, there are five themed rooms (ranging in price from $120 - $165 per night through the Internet), each with a completely different feeling. We spent two wonderfully peaceful nights in "Clouds Rest," the largest of the rooms. It was like being in heaven - literally. The room is painted like heaven, in soft blue with white puffy clouds. The private deck was perfect for sitting and sipping wine while relaxing and watching the scenery below. A fireplace and Jacuzzi tub with hand-held shower rounded out the amenities. The other rooms are just as relaxing, although not as heavenly. "Yosemite Falls" includes a waterfall on the wall. Yes, you can turn it on or off at your pleasure. "Eagles Tower" has more of a rustic feel. "Emerald Pool" is done in luscious greens and this is the only room that includes a steam room/ stall shower. And "Fireplace Bluff" is a charming and serene room. Ann Schafer, the owner of the Inn, purchased the building in June and refurnished it to reflect the Victorian age. There are no televisions in any of the rooms, but they do have telephones. The public sitting room is a nice place to gather together and read. Included in your stay is a continental breakfast with yogurt, fruit, coffee, juices, breads, and cereals. And an interesting side note, instead of the flowery fragrances of many inns, this one smells of fresh oranges! I asked them about this and they do use a citrus spray to give it that yummy fragrance. If you're bringing your kids along, they can accommodate children. They will be happy to set up a porta-crib or bring in an inflatable bed, and sleeping bags are available at no additional charge. If you don't want to drive up to Groveland, Southwest Airlines can fly you up to the Sacramento area where you can rent a car for the trip to Tuolumne County. And once you're settled at the Inn, make sure you drive over to Yosemite and soak up a dose of Mother Nature. There's no need to worry about being snowed out or in. The Inn offers a 100% money back guarantee should California Route 120 (the main route to the Inn) be closed. Enjoy your stay at the All Seasons Groveland Inn. http: www.allseasonsgrovelandinn.com |
