If you are thinking about your next family vacation, make sure that the Half Moon Resort in Jamaica is on the list of top choices. This perfect island get-away has so much to do for you and your family; you can create your own personal blend of relaxed days, adventurous excursions, educational activities and kid-crazy fun!

While you lounge on sun-kissed shores, your younger kids will have hours of fun at the new Anancy Children's Village at Half Moon(TM), where they can enjoy cold refreshments in Patoo's Lookout, get creative in Artsy Kraftsy, or create puppet shows & listen to captivating stories in Tacoomah Hut. For your older children, the Village features tennis clinics, volleyball, nature walks, golf, squash, horseback riding and water sports galore! At the Anancy Children's Village, children can learn about Jamaica in a safe, fun and captivating environment. And, for those tiny children still awaiting potty training, the resort provides a Nanny service. The Nannies can even escort all your children to and from the Children's Village for you!

The activities are plentiful, but, for adults, one "must do" is the horse back riding. First, you are taken on a ride with an English saddle to the beach where you then are taken bare back to the bay. Next, and this was the best part, you are led out into the deeper part of the bay so that you may swim with the horse! You start by hanging on to the mane and floating while the horse pulls you around. Then, you hold on to the tail, and the horse will pull you again. This is an experience that we will never forget. The other not-to-be-missed activity is the chance to swim with the dolphins. I always thought this would be amazing, but it far exceeded my expectations. There's just something about floating there, looking right into the eyes of a dolphin, that took my breath away.

Whereas the resort's activities take care of your mind and body, Half Moon's Bodywork Spa takes this a big step further and rejuvenates your soul. Relax and be pampered hard core with body wraps and reflexology to traditional massages and more delivered by highly trained aestheticians that combine traditional European treatments with old-world, Jamaican and Indian techniques and ingredients.

With their state-of-the-art fitness center and full range of yoga, aerobic and body-sculpting classes, the Half Moon resort gives you plenty of reason to indulge in the out of this world food! There were so many choices. As a food lover, I knew we needed to do this right. So, I utilized the very knowledgeable and courteous staff to help me come up with the best game plan. We tried a bit of everything during our stay: afternoon tea, authentic Italian cuisine, beachside barbecue, dining al fresco on the terrace and Jamaican style on the beach. A quick trip to the fitness center quickly dispelled any lurking guilt over sampling the wide variety of desserts!

'Xamayca' is the name that the first Jamaicans, the Tainos, gave to this beautiful island country. It means 'Land of Wood and Water', and for good reason. Jamaica has hundreds of spring and rivers, both above and under ground. Over the years, Jamaicans have developed extensive water treatment and supply systems island wide, so all drinking water in Jamaica is purified and filtered by modern methods. If you choose not to drink the water, rest assured, there are many brands of Jamaican Spring water that meet or exceed the highest international standards, available at most shops and restaurants.

Water was the central theme of our trip. From playing in freshwater pools of all shapes and sizes to snorkeling, sailing, and scuba diving in the crystal clear waters surrounding this paradise, the Half Moon has everything necessary to satisfy our inner amphibian.

Take the plunge into tropical splendor and romp with bottlenose dolphins. Jamaica is the place to be for tropical family fun, and the Half Moon Resort is a fantastic place to start!
