 Magnificent Desolation Not Rated

From 1969 to 1972 twelve men walked on the moon. This DVD explores their experiences and describes their emotions, journeys, and activities of their historic journeys. The men spent a total of 299 hours on the moon, and as NASA is preparing to return, it is the time to look back at these heroes who journeyed farther than any human has ever gone. Besides the 40 minute film, there are several bonus features, one for each of the six missions that landed on the lunar surface. For Apollo 11 there is a wonderful video diary. For Apollo 12 there is a photo gallery from the trip, Apollo 14 a Trivia game (how much about space exploration do you know?), Apollo 15 a look at the Lunar Rover Vehicle which traveled at a top speed of 8 mph, Apollo 16 a look at the mechanics and activities of the Saturn V rocket and the Lunar Landing Module, and for Apollo 17 a look at the Extra Vehicular Activity. For those who lived during the lunar missions, this DVD will bring back memories and for those who were not yet born, this is a great way to see what early space exploration entailed and learn about the men who paved the way for our future.
